    Event Description:
    The strength training program, Stay Strong, Stay Healthy (SSSH), has been shown to reduce falls among older adults by improving strength and flexibility.  SSSH an eight-week, evidence-based strength training program designed for older adults who want to improve their quality of life and stay active.  



    The exercises are easy to learn, safe, and effective.  No need to wear special clothes—just comfortable, loose-fitting pants and shirt, along with sturdy, closed-toe walking shoes.  Each class includes warm-up exercises, eight strengthening exercises which can be done from a chair or standing, with or without hand and ankle weights, cool-down stretches.  Weights will be available on-site, and a trained instructor will help participants learn and do these exercises safely.

    The program will run March 30 to May 20, on Wednesday and Friday afternoons from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. for 8 weeks.
